We take every care to ensure your roof tiles are not worked loose or damaged, however on exceedingly rare occasions this may happen. We will inform you of this straight away and we will ensure everything is repaired or replaced and left how it originally was.
Yes, it is! If you are having an internal flue installed then we will erect a structure with a top working lift at the very bottom of the stack which will have full safety guard rails installed. This will give the engineer room to install the flue piping down the chimney(s). On some occasions when the flue is larger than normal for example on industrial chimneys, our scaffolders will erect extra framework around the top to reduce handling dangers.
A simple tower structure is erected to gutter level then built up to the base of the stack. If required additional framework is then erected and fixed into place around the perimeter of the chimney so there is access around all sides. If the chimney is situated on the roof ridge then we would use a process called “saddling” (a roof saddle scaffold) which is where we saddle over the ridge of the roof using tube resting on timber scaffold boards which allows us to build the rest of the platform so that workers can safely move over the ridge to get around all 4 sides.
Depending on what works you are doing and how high your particular stack is, we may need to erect further lifts which are normally two metres high to allow standing room and to avoid any injuries.
