Project type: Scaffolding for a new build 2-storey house extension.
Location: Oving Road, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19.
Client requirements: We were asked to erect a simple 3 lift scaffold for our customer, so that the bricklayers could continue with building the brickwork and once this was completed the roofing company could carry out roof works on a new brick built 2 storey extension.
Obstacles and challenges we faced: We did not have any issues when building this scaffold as the access was good and there were no obstacles in the way for our scaffolders whilst erecting this new build scaffolding on what was a small building site.
What we did: Our customer called upon us once the bricklayers had built the brick extension up to first floor height which was as far as they could go and once finished, they needed a single lift of scaffolding with double handrails to be able to continue with the project safely. Ladder access and toe boards were as standard also present on this 1st scaffold lift as well as all other lifts. The scaffolding was erected around all elevations of the new extension so that the builders could continue with this project without any interruptions. Every other set of uprights were braced inwards and sway braces were also added to the structure to provide extra stability and stop any movement whilst workers used our scaffold. We waited to be contacted by the customer again once they reached the next stage of the build which then required our team to erect the 2nd scaffolding lift. Once the brickwork was completed on this part of the project we were then required to go back and erect the 3rd and final lift so that the last few courses of bricks could be laid and also to give access to the roofers so that a new roof could be added to the extension.
Hire period: It was agreed when we quoted for this job that the hire period would be 8 weeks.

Once you accept our quotation, we will book you in for the date requested. On the day of erection our scaffolders will arrive to put up the structure safely also leaving ladder access once completed. You are then ready to complete your works or project. Once the scaffold is no longer required you will need to contact us, and we will provide you with a dismantle date (which we will keep to) we will then arrive on the agreed date and remove all our equipment and may ask you to leave a review if you are happy to do so.
